Burnt Toast SFX was founded in 2019 and is based in Lincolnshire and although we’re the ‘new kids on the block,’ we’ve already built incredible special effects for productions and events all over the UK and Europe.

Jamie enjoyed a successful global acting career before spending 15 years producing professional theatre. Recognising the need for high-quality special & flying effects, he founded Burnt Toast SFX. Why Burnt Toast? You’ll have to ask!
Casey’s background is in the creative & education industries, including work with a successful theatre production company. With experience running her own businesses & a love for theatre, this is her perfect role.
Pete has spent 36 years designing effects, flying rigs, & sets worldwide. He created the acclaimed “Santa’s Sleigh” for the West End’s Elf at the Dominion Theatre, earning praise as “spectacular” from critic Mark Shenton.
Roddy, Burnt Toast SFX’s chief digital designer for three years, brings his games industry experience to the early stages of effects design. His creativity helps clients visualise their special effects on screen before construction begins.
Mark, an electrical wizard, began as an electronics technician before working at Marconi Electronic Systems. Later transitioning to manufacturing, he’s the go-to for anything that moves or lights up!
Formerly a farm machine builder & maintenance specialist, Paul subsequently worked for a theatre set build company. He now brings his extensive experience to Burnt Toast SFX.
Benjy has worked for Burnt Toast SFX since graduating from Sheffield University in 2023. He supports the team with risk assessments, builds, & maintenance. As the final quality check, he ensures each effect is perfect.
Kate, with extensive accounting experience, has supported Burnt Toast SFX since 2021, managing invoicing & credit control to help grow the company.
Harry is an experienced actor in theatre, TV, & film, appearing in London’s West End, TV series Poldark & a 2025 film with Tom Hanks. As a special effects daredevil, he’s the perfect chief tester.
With over 30 years of experience as an actor, writer, & director, Julie serves as the creative advisor for Burnt Toast SFX, shaping its brand, website, & social media while anticipating future client needs.
